CALAMBA // RESIDENTIAL // 2100 SQM

we continue to explore different methods in sustainably merging the built and natural environment. Our previous projects brought the forest into the house. For this 9 bedroom residential project, we explored how to preserve the vegetated ground plane and top soil by elevating the buildings high enough for even small trees to grow underneath.

Aside from maintaining the ground plane, this concept of elevating the buildings has a lot of advantages which includes providing users elevated unobstructed views, gravity rain water harvesting, and improved airflow.

When we design places, we make sure that the spaces within are flexible yet program grounded. This ensures the sustainability of the building since it can be retrofitted for different uses throughout its life cycle. Buildings need the ability to adapt to future needs.

For this project, large open floorplans create wide sweeping views which reflect the vast landscape its surrounded with.
