 EqualiWell Mobile Unit (EMU) Aggregation

Due to its modular design, EMU’s can aggregate in many different ways depending on the scenario. It can assemble into rural clinic, an emergency pop up hospital, and even into a district hospital. This enables the EqualiWell healthcare system better adapt to changing situations such as natural disasters and outbreaks because the structure can grow or shrink depending on the demand.

Rural Village Clinic

The EMU Rural Village Clinic is designed to be a flexible clinic with programmed schedules for its different types of services. The last module changes depending on the schedule. For example, villages can have a monthly scheduled dental service using the Dental Module. Since Dental is not a regular module, it can be shared across the region, maximizing its utility. Waiting area is minimal due to all patients being scheduled.

Emergency Pop Up

The EMU Emergency Pop Up maximizes the use of its folding door mechanism to create a large hallway that would accommodate more patients. This type of aggregation can easily be deployed with a large enough space. During a natural disaster or an outbreak, this type of quick solution is vital. It can provide not only care, but dignified care.

Since units are facing each other, nurses and doctors can respond to emergency situations quicker. This larger structure can also triage patients better wherein they can separate patients based on need and therefore be more efficient.

District Hospital

Due to the ever changing demands and needs of healthcare, EMU’s are designed to aggregate in many forms including an EMU District Hospital. This is especially needed during the interim time between immediate response and recovery during a natural disaster. The EMU’s can start of as an Emergency Pop Up and slowly grow to become an EMU District Hospital depending on the demand. During a pandemic, the EMU’s can evolve as well to become a District Hospital to provide more services that may be required to better isolate the spread.

The design of the EMU District Hospital is in compliance with international healthcare standards. It has all the functions needed of a district hospital. Not all EMU modules cover the required programs, but the structure will be built using the EMU Docking System. This makes it easy to transport and put up a district hospital. If all materials are complete and prefabricated, an EMU district hospital can be completed within 10 days.
